Chip is a private, invitation-only portfolio-monitoring app used by its operator and a small closed circle of friends and family. It is not distributed to the public and has no commercial purpose.
Account email, display name, and — if you choose to link a brokerage account via Plaid — read-only investment holdings (positions, balances). We never receive your brokerage credentials; authentication happens directly between you, Plaid, and your brokerage.
Solely to display your portfolio and generate investment analysis within the app. Data is never sold, shared with third parties (beyond the service providers below), or used for advertising.
Plaid (account connectivity), Railway (hosting, US), Apple (app distribution and push notifications), Sentry (error monitoring, no personal data), Anthropic (AI-generated explanations of already-computed suggestions — no personal account data is sent).
Data is stored encrypted at the infrastructure level; brokerage access tokens are additionally encrypted at the application level. Unlinking your account in Settings revokes Plaid access and deletes the stored token immediately. For full account deletion, contact the operator.
